Our Caucasians have been doing an excellent job guarding the sheep and birds from wildlife. With the arrival of many newborn lambs, it’s been a hectic season, which delayed our breeding plans. However, we’re now preparing for a planned litter this fall — stay tuned! 🐕🦁🐑🦢🐓🦆🐤🐣🐥🐛

I’ve received many inquiries about whether Caucasian Shepherds can get along well with other animals. Here’s how my gentle giants protect sheep, ducks, chickens, and cattle:

💂‍♂️ Guarding sheep

Our gentle giants have thick coats that allow them to thrive in Alberta winters and protect sheep all year round.

 

 🦆 Guarding birds

Beyond their role as guardians, our Caucasian Shepherds demonstrate remarkable intelligence and adaptability. They integrate with other animals on the farm, displaying a keen ability to protect ducks and chickens.

🐮 Bond with Cattle

Here’s a photo of a female puppy from our 2023 summer litter. Now a giant at just 12 months old, she has grown up with cattle and is happy and intimate with her new friends. We appreciate the owner sending this wonderful update!

🍉 Our Breeding Delayed

We delayed our breeding plans due to travel. We now expect a litter in late autumn. This is a photo of the mom with her puppies from the 2023 litter.

Dear Caucasian Shepherd Enthusiasts,

It’s astonishing to realize that we’ve already stepped into October. Time is swiftly passing as we witness numerous precious moments here at Harbor Kennel. I’d like to share these cherished moments with you, so the joy is not Harbor Kennel’s alone.

Birthday Celebration: On July 8th, a new litter was born from Hulon and Bear. Hulon displayed extraordinary care and affection toward the newborn puppies.

Proud Mother: Hulon didn’t leave her puppies’ side during the first two weeks. We witnessed a true miracle as the puppies grew rapidly.

Proud Puppies: Before long, the puppies transformed into proud little dogs patrolling the yard.

Meeting the Shee: At just 7 weeks old, the puppies were introduced to the sheep. They displayed curiosity and bravery, all while Hulon kept a watchful eye on them.

Family Reunion: Lalala, finally, Hulon no longer feels the need to guard against Bear, their father.

Day One, the birth of our magnificent and intrepid Caucasian Shepherd Dog Hulon’s first pup. Love, raw and undeniable, courses through her veins. With meticulous care, she scrupulously purged the placenta and fetal membrane, displaying a cautious tenderness. Day Three, With the puppies nursing and settling down, Hulon found a moment to rest. She stayed close to them, even sacrificing her own food and water, demonstrating her unwavering dedication.

Our FCI registered pure breed Caucasian shepherds is going to have puppies next week. The father is also FCI registered pure breed imported from Russia world famouse dog kennel. Sign up sheets for the puppies are open.We expect a Caucasian Shepherd litter next week from our gorgeous female Hulon and brave male Bear. This would be the only litter this year. Both father and mother came from a world famous kennel and with FCI documents. Sign up sheets for the puppies are open.  Please email harborkennel@gmail.com

Our foundation female Hulon is expecting a litter in the early spring 2023. Hulon is FCI registered and import from Russian top Caucasian Shepherd Kennel.
